R.O. Filters (Reverse Osmosis)

Reverse Osmosis works by pushing water first through a sediment filter, then carbon filter(s), then through the membrane on top to remove dissolved solids, then finally through a polishing filter which is another carbon filter that helps with water clearness and taste.

After water leaves the membrane filter (stage 4) it will flow into the tank to fill the tank with R.O. water. The tank contains an air bladder that will build pressure in the line, once filled. After the pressure is built into the line water can flow through the polishing carbon filter (stage 5) to the faucet for use. Because pressure must be built up, it generally takes several hours to fill the tank before water can be used after initial installation.
